This is my PowerPoint presentation research into theatrical and teaser trailers.

Rough ideas

Having a primary aim to create a postmodern text, I decided on twisting social values and the norm in society. I found great inspiration from a personal anecdote of famous author Stephen King:

'I write about ordinary people in extraordinary situations. And I think that has a lot to do with people reading these books and finding individuals in them that they identify with without real leap of the imagination.'

Thus I intend to create a fairly ordinary character with a ordinary background audiences can relate to and understand. I've already come up with three main ideas, each equally different in genre and message yet all link with a postmodern plot.

Postmodernism

I want to create a postmodern plot that will questions the ideals and values of normal life. I find postmodernism compelling and inventive; major examples of postmodern films include 'The Matrix' and 'Memento' which are not only effective in their narratives but also in how specifically they've been filmed.

These two films have already influenced me in my approach, but I also intend to draw similarities in my film to other various work from different media, this includes:

- Phillip K Dick
- Run, Lola, Run
- Rashomon
- Los Cronocrimenes
- Inception

Greetings, my name is Alex Barham and this is my individual blog that will display my A2 coursework. My fictional production company is called Incorruptible Productions (more details will soon be posted) and my promotional package for my own feature film will consist of:

- A theatrical trailer
- A website homepage for the film
- A film magazine front cover, featuring the film

I intend to create a memorable and thought provoking trailer throughout this course.
